So, I’ve taken a short break from my short episodes – honestly, life just got in the way.  If you’re in my world, you will know that we are in the middle of Year 12 exams for my daughter and now it’s hay season and harvest (we are farmers) so it’s B-U-S-Y!

But I really need to get back to these short eps because I know you love them!

Ok, so this episode, which just happens to be ep 159 we are talking about storytelling on social media and 4 tips around that.

Tip 1 – Make it HUMAN!  Human to human marketing is so powerful.  When you’re telling your story (or one of your stories) on social media, be you, just be you!  It’s your story, so make it about you (of course, the message is for the audience!)

Tip 2 – Remember your brand voice, brand values and what makes you different and unique.  If you’ve built your business around being you – then this will be easy but if you’ve built your business brand around something that’s less authentic, you are going to need to change the messaging or start back building a brand around you.

Tip 3 – Leave people wanting more!  Wanting to know more about you, wanting to support you and wanting to help you grow your business because they connect with you through your stories or connect with a part of the story you told and therefore feel like they know you, like you and trust you!

Tip 4 – make your storytelling interactive.  Remember we don’t often share for the sake of sharing, it’s more that we share our stories because of the message that’s in it for our audience – our experience can help them!  So be interactive, have a call to action. Ask watchers, listeners, for their thoughts, comments and encourage them to share similar stories too!

Storytelling is from the history books.  It’s the way to stay relevant and memorable.  So, you need to use stories in your marketing to do just that – be relevant and memorable to your audience!

Ok, that’s it – see you next time.  Hope you enjoyed the tips on storytelling.

Oh, but before you do, if you’re enjoying these short episodes, please go and leave a rating and review – would so appreciate that.

Remember, there’s no point in dreaming small.
